Well it is finally spring here in Canada and even though it was warm it has turned a might chilly again. Anyway not to worry, this is the best time for making plans for your garden whether it is looking through bulb catalogs or thinking about your garden decor.

I found some really interesting information on how to build Adirondack chairs take a look and see what you think. It doesn't sound too hard really and would a great hobby to have. Of course improving your garden decor will make your friends and neighbors envious too.

So just imagine lazing in your chair, whether its by the lake or up at the cottage, even reading a book or bird watching, a cool drink by your side, maybe you could build some tables too. Anything home-made is just so much more appealing and of course the great satisfaction you derive from building from scratch with your own hands.

New Direction!

Well what better way to start in a new direction than with a new addition into our family.

Savina Hind Fleckenstein was born January 26, 2010 at 4.50 pm weighing in at 7 lbs 12oz. Congratulations to Mike and Angie she is beautiful.

This was a week for changes and that was the first change in our lives, never thought I would be a Grandma yet!

Second change is that I am taking my site at Internet Office Connections into more of a targeted market. I really enjoy posting and writing and this is where I want to concentrate my time and efforts. For more details go and check out the site and leave your comments here. I still have details to add and tweaks to make but it is getter there slowly.

After having spend the last 10 months doing a business course, it is very disappointing to feel that I still have 'no experience' and there are no jobs out there. So it is time to stop procrastinating and create my own 'job'

An Eagle in Our Neighbourhood

As we were driving home from work the other evening, my husband and I saw a Bald Eagle take to the skies not far from our house. It was a beautiful sight to see and amazing as we aren't even sure that we had any eagles in our area.

Maybe it was passing through or maybe it is here to stay. I know we will be watching our skies to see if we get another sneek peak at this beautiful bird. We have seen plenty of hawks around which can be large but nothing the size that this bird was and with its white head was unmistakable. Hopefully it will be seen again soon.

Time just flies

Well it is amazing how time flies and life changes in so many ways. This year has been one of a kind for us, with so many ups and downs. Finally life has settled down and I am ready for new changes in my life.

I am almost finished a Business course and am looking to start my own Virtual Assistant Business. I have currently done a number of small projects and am looking to take on regular clients. Whether for updating reports, powerpoint presentations, mailing lists, internet research and article placement. Please contact me for a free consultation.

My other change has come in the form of lifestyle. After being shown that life is short and can end at any time, I decided it was time to take charge and become seriously healthy finally. I stared walking and cycling and have now dropped almost 30 lbs and 6 inches in the last two months. I feel totally great and that is my motivation to keep on going. I still have a long way to go but can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It is time to get back into action and make positive changes, I am looking forward to what life may bring.

Ecoquest Changes Hands

Well it was quite a surprise to find out that Ecoquest International was not able to weather the recession and have decided to sell to Electrolux. At first I was disappointed with the company, with all the lectures on keeping things together during a recession, not giving up etc. Mike Jackson sold the company within a year of things starting to go downhill.

Having done some research on Electrolux and actually knowing the name quite well from growing up in England. This sale could actually be a good thing for Ecoquest. Potentially in giving air, water and laundry purification more of a home association, of products that are necessary for a healthy home, rather as the exception for someone who suffers from allergies etc. Also for just getting the name out into the European market would be very benefical for Ecoquest too!

So I have to look forward with some anticipation to see what the future will bring.

How I got 10,000 traffic credits online in one week

After surfing traffic exchanges I was finding it difficult to accumulate credits, I was actually making money from referrrals more than I was getting credits. So I started looking a bit more closely at the exchanges.

I joined a new exhange Hits Pro Booster when it appeared on T raffic Hoopla.
Right away I was given 1,000 credits but also I was upgraded for the first 7 days of my new account for free. Just create your account log in and surf 25 sites and you will be upgraded.

This way you are surfing 1 for 1 credit, so my credit total was actually mounting up to something. So I figured I would surf that exchange as much as I could for those 7 days.

Another thing I started doing was actually reading the emails I was getting from the various exchanges, especially the top surfed ones. Traffic Splash offers specials and any day if you surf 100 sites email the support staff and you will receive banner impressions or text link ads for free. Traffic Exchanges

I have been studying how to get the most out of surfing the traffic exchanges.

It is very worthwhile to look into their referral programs and see what they pay out. I found this out quite by accident having referred a couple of people to Traffic Splash and then being notified that I had some money in my Alert Pay account.

Traffic Splash pays up to 50% commissions on upgrades, upto 10% on credit purchases and 5% on pages surfed.

To refer people all I do is add some banners to my sites or send out notices to the safelists. An easy way to make some money and build yourself a list at the same time of people that down the road might be interested in looking at one of your other opportunities.

Well today I have spent time learning more about keywords and making money online with our proven system. It definetly took time and effort to research the keywords that I want to go after and ones that would be relative to the online system that I am promoting. Dependence on Your Computer:

When you work from home you really depend on your computer, and when it decides to act you, you don't realize just how much you miss it.

Mine decided that it was going to run slow, real slow, a snail could have honestly gone faster. Couldn't figure out what it was and kept getting messages about virtual memory being low etc. Thank goodness within our CrazyFoxes Marketing Group we have a great guy Steve Ward, who dones wonders with computers. Along with my son Matt we figured that RAM should solve the issue.

As Matt uses his laptop more we switched the RAM from his older computer to mine. After cleaning out a million dust bunnies and switching things, I seem to be running fine. Definetly much faster, but I do have a bad habit of having too many windows open at one time. Just tells you how my mind is thinking...too much at one time.

I have been busy learning how to use my veretekk system and slowly the fog is clearing and things are starting to come together. Watching to see how the traffic portals are working to get premium leads that you in turn can then mail to with whatever opportunity you might be with.

It has taken time and effort and the best thing I did was attend the silver trainings and then get help from the CrazyFoxes Marketing Group Karen Weir and Cindy Bolley are great trainers and have tons of patience with the endless questions. Following the guidelines of our daily tasks that Karen set out have been very helpful....sometimes it is just not knowing what it is you should be working on to build your business. The step by step guide lays it out for you and then adds various tasks depending on the time you have available.

I am working on building my html skills even more and though it can be frustrating at times it is enjoyable once the page has come together and looks how you had it planned.

Kids are masters at using this gift but we adults seem to lose our ability to ask. We come up with all sorts of excuses and reasons to avoid any possibility of rejection. Yet the world responds to those who ask. If you are not moving closer to what you want in sales, you probably aren't doing enough asking.

Fortunately, to help create abundance there are many ways to ask. Since the rewards of asking are substantial, why do people stumble when they have an opportunity to ask? There are three basic reasons:

1. They have a belief system that says it's not right to ask.

2. They lack confidence.

3. They fear rejection.

If any of these three negative forces are playing havoc with your opportunity to get ahead, you must use what is called taking the leap of faith. That means releasing old beliefs, feeling good about yourself and understanding that life isn't perfect. It's normal to experience a lot of roadblocks along the way.

1. Ask for help.
To win potential new clients, you first need to know what their current challenges are, what they want to accomplish and how they plan to do it. Only then can you proceed to demonstrate the advantages of your unique product or service. Ask questions starting with the words, who, why, what, where, when and how to obtain the information you need. Only when you truly understand and appreciate the needs of a prospect can you offer a solution. If everything fits, the solution will be your product or service.

2. Ask for business.
Here's an amazing statistic: After doing a complete presentation about the benefits of their product or service, more than 60 percent of the time, salespeople never ask for the order. That's a bad habit, one that could ultimately put you on the selling scrap heap.

Always ask a closing question to secure the business. Don't talk around it, or worse, wait for your prospect to ask you. You have read good suggestions for these questions, like "Would you like to give it a try?' The point is, just ask. Note that these questions are designed to produce a yes or no answer, unlike the open type questions used in the discovery process.

3. Ask for written endorsements.
Well-written, results-oriented testimonials from highly respected people are powerful for future sales. They solidify the quality of your work and leverage you as a person who has integrity, is trustworthy and who gets the job done on time. Yet most people in sales don't do this. That gives you a great opportunity to jump ahead of your competition. All you need to do is ask. When is the best time? Right after you have provided excellent service, completed a major project under budget, gone the extra mile to help out, or any other time you've made your customer really happy.

Simply ask if your customer would be willing to give you a testimonial about the value of your product or service, plus any other helpful comments.

4. Ask for top-quality referrals.
Just about everyone in business knows the importance of referrals. It's the easiest, least-expensive way of ensuring your growth and success in the marketplace. In our experience, however, only one out of ten companies has a system for gathering referrals.
Your core clients will gladly give you referrals because you treat them so well. So why not ask all of them for referrals? It's a habit that will dramatically increase your income. Like any other habit, the more you do it the easier it becomes.

5. Ask for more business.
Salespeople lose thousands of dollars in sales every year because they have nothing more to offer after the initial sale. Look for other products or services you can provide your customers. Devise a system that tells you when your clients will require more of your products. The simplest way is to ask your customers when you should contact them to reorder. It's often easier to sell your existing clients more than to go looking for new ones.

6. Ask to renegotiate.
Regular business activities include negotiation. Many salespeople get stuck because they lack skills in negotiation. It's another form of asking that can save a lot of time and money. As long as you negotiate ethically and in the spirit of win-win, you can enjoy a lot of flexibility. Nothing is ever cast in stone.

7. Ask for feedback.
This is an important component of asking that is often overlooked. How do you really know if your product or service is meeting the needs of your customer? Ask them, "How are we doing? What can we do to improve our service to you? Tell us what you like about our products and what you don't like. " Set up regular customer surveys that ask good questions and tough questions. It's a way to fine-tune your business.

HOW TO ASK

Some people don't enjoy the fruits of asking because they don't ask effectively. If you use vague, unspecific language you will not be understood. Here are four ways to ensure that your asking gets results.

1. Ask clearly.
Be precise. Think clearly about your request. Take time to prepare. Use a notepad to pick words that have the greatest impact. Words are powerful, so choose them carefully.

2. Ask with confidence.
People who ask confidently get more than those who are hesitant and uncertain. When you've figured out what you want to ask for, do it with certainty, boldness and confidence. This does not mean being brash, arrogant or conceited. The only negative thing that can happen is that your request may be denied. You are in no worse position than before. It just means that you need to look for another route for results.

3. Ask consistently.
Some people fold after making one timid request. They quit too soon. Keep asking until you find the answers. In sales there are usually four or five "no's" before you get a "yes. " Top producers understand this. When you find a way to ask that works, keep on asking it.

4. Ask creatively.
In this age of global competition, your asking may get lost in the crowd, unheard by the decision-makers you hope to reach. There is a way around this. If you want someone's attention, don't send an ordinary letter. Use your creativity to dream up a high- impact introduction. You may not want to go so far as the saleswoman who sent a chief buyer a homing pigeon with her card attached to one leg. On the card she had written, "If you want to know more about our product, just throw our representative out the window." Think of what you can do to create a powerful impact with your most important prospects and don't be surprised when those impenetrable doors swing wide open to welcome you in.

5. Ask sincerely.
When you really need help, people will respond. Sincerity means dropping the image facade and showing a willingness to be vulnerable. Tell it the way it is, lumps and all. Don't worry if your presentation isn't perfect; ask from your heart. Keep it simple and people will open up to you.

When you've exhausted all avenues to get what you want, people are more likely to give a helping hand when you ask for support. People who ask for a free ride all the time rarely succeed.

Well I wanted to post one last item for this year and it seems very fitting to be on the topic of our New Year Resolutions. We always make them, it seems a wonderful time of year to make one too.

Today I decided that I would spring clean my home, dusting, laundry, cleaning in the corners, vacuuming the basement, washing the floors, extra scrubbing in the bathrooms.. Figured it was cleaning away the cobwebs in all aspects of my life, so I can start fresh tomorrow. To some it might seem like an exaggeration but to someone who wants and expects some new things it fits right in.

Tomorrow, January 1, 2009...I want to get on track with my online business and finally generate some cash flow. I have teamed with the CrazyFoxes Marketing Group and am really excited about the new possibilities that lie ahead.

The next item on my list is to lose weight. Yes I know your going to say everyone says this but to me this year it is different. I am fed up with feeling sore and unhealthy, of waking up some nights wondering if I am going to have a heart attack...I really am not that old just have to take better care of myself. So I am going to cut back on my calories, drink lots of water and herbal teas and start getting a good amount of exercise and get my life back on track. I want to lose between 60-70lbs and of course as quick as possible, but if I can just see and feel myself on track I will be happy.

My last item on my list for 2009 is to be prepared for our dog Molson, our yellow labrador, not to last til next Christmas, he will be 14 in Feb and we can see that he does not get around as good as he used to. We often carry him up from the basement stairs, as it can be difficult for him to climb them. Not that we are trying to think in the negative but just that the time is coming nearer and the future will bring what it will.....

But knowing that he has had a wonderful dog life is a plus, he has had bush to run in, a pond to swim in, he has been out fishing in our boat and camping...he has been happy and not locked up in a cage all day. Spent time chasing rabbits, deer, turkey and blue heron! It's been fun to watch him do all this.

So far he still has a good appetite which is a plus but almost every month we can see changes in him and we try to prepare for what will someday lie ahead....Which will be very difficult to say the least. Our younger dog Skyla will miss him terribly as she has learnt good and bad from him, but watches everything he does and mothers him like crazy...she may need another companion but time will only tell.

All in all I am looking forward to 2009 and the challanges and rewards it will bring to us all. Let us all bail ourselves out of the economic situation and not rely on some government to do it for us.

The excavator took up no room at all in our backyard! Here to finish digging out the pond and get our yard on the road to recovery! Everyone had a great time just watching this machine move around, the boys were 8 and 9 at the time so they had a great time and even got to sit inside the cab on the workers' coffee break. Once we came out early on a Sat to watch the sun rise up over the trees and saw deer walking down into the yet to be finished pond to grab a drink.

This is our home after a big snowfall, it always looks so beautiful with the snow on the cedars and the pine trees. We have actually moved a few of the trees back now. Plus I am always amazed at how many seedlings we find trying to grow, and we move them out into the open and 'landscape' our home for free!

It took a lot of work to clear our property and it is one of those jobs that you only ever take on once in your life! When you realize how much work it is, it's 'never again', but definitely a life experience. Now we can sit back and appreciate the work we put into our property. All in all in took about 4-5 yrs to get it to look the way we wanted.

Instead of going to college after school I decided to travel in Europe. Ever since I could remember I loved studying different countries and seeing how people lived and it was my dream to leave England and see something of the world.

My first trip to Europe was actually a vacation with my brother, who was in the RAF in Holland at the time. I remember boarding a ferry and going across the North Sea in a storm, what an experience. We traveled in Holland, Belgium and mostly in Germany and it was beautiful scenery and huge rivers. Even venturing up a mountain by cable car!

I loved what I had seen, so back in England I decided to be a Nanny and went to Munich for a year. It was a life building experience and I learnt to speak German. I remember visiting castles, museums and going across the border to Salzburg and the salt mines. Eventually it was time to go back to England, but it was just not what I wanted. Apartments were expensive, as were cars and you just couldn't afford to have both. I still had the travel bug and this time ventured 3,000 miles to Canada.

I worked as a nanny and eventually met a great guy, who's family's background was German. Anyway to cut a long story short, after all my travels I ended up marrying the boy next door!

We have now been married for 21 years with two boys who have just turned 19 and 20, plus two labs, Molson who is 14 and a yellow lab, and Skyla 2yrs and black and full of life. We have a nice home on 50 acres out in the Ontario countryside.

I stayed home and ran a daycare when my boys were small especially with my nanny background. As they got older I decided to go out to work and finally ended up in a golf manufacturing environment. After working there about 3 yrs I started getting a terrible cough every day and just not feeling well. Finally things got so bad I was off work and was finally diagnosed with work related asthma and allergies. I was having a terrible time breathing and always felt like I had bronchitis.

A friend of mine suggested I use an air purifier. She had tried one and it had helped her allergies immensely. The company offered a free trial so I thought why not? Within a couple of days of running the purifier in my home I was sleeping through the night and not coughing the way I was. I was really impressed with these units and was then told that I could also sell them if I wanted to and have my own business.

I had over the years tried many other home business and party plan ventures but nothing ever worked for long, I would run out of friends or neighbours. But I liked the technology and felt it would be great to help other people solve their indoor air issues, even with odors, dust or pets.

So I took the plunge and joined the Healthy Living Company and was impressed with what I saw and all of the support and training that I received. So I started building my business in the evenings as I had after about a year off gone back to work. Things were better but not fantastic at work, the environment was just not healthy. The following summer we got laid off and even though I was devasted at the time, I had lost a pay cheque....I now see this as a blessing in disguise as it gave me the opportunity to work full time from home while still providing for my family.

As of now I no longer need to spend $250 a month on puffers and pills and feel so much more healthy than I did. I really credit this to my air purifier as we can feel a difference in the air quality in our home. There is no more doggy odour when you come through the front door. Plus the dust....there is so much less now. Have you ever looked into a sunbeam floating through your window and seen all the particles in there? Well mine have all disappeared and yours can too!

I would now like to help and mentor other people who are looking at ways to stay home with their family, or have gotten laid off as I did and need to replace an income. I have helped myself to better health and would love to help others succeed too.
